Bows and arrows on a shoestring

...or elastic string, really.

Thanks to this blog entry I was able to, when the objects were demanded (ahem) by my eldest, produce a reasonable bow and arrow for the kids to play with.

Materials:
- one pruned poplar stick
- one dead bougainvillea stick
- good pruning shears
- tape / ribbon
- elastic

Tada!

Closeup of how I put tape in the split at the end of the arrow, then wedged a bit of ribbon in there, to make it easier for little fingers to get it on the elastic.

Nice arc, right?

Boing!!!
